Glossary

Unix: Unix is an operating system designed by AT&T for the use in large networks. It is known to be robust and stable even under heavy system loads. Used only on mainframes, minicomputers and high-end workstations first, Unix systems are also seen a lot on personal computers nowadays.
URI: A Uniform Resource Identifier is a string that servers as an identifeir for an Internet resource. URIs are commonly used in HTML to link the documents of one or more sites.
URL: A Uniform Resource Locator is a special form of an URI.
