Open Source: The Open Source concept of software development is based upon the accessability of program sources. This makes it possible to port applications to other platforms or to fix bugs much faster and thus adds greatly to the flexibility of the development process.
OS: The Operating System of a computer controls basic functions like input and output or the execution of application level programs.
