A browser is a software program that is used to display and navigate through a hypertext document on the WWW. Such programs exists for both, graphical and textual terminals. Some graphical displays are quite limited with regards to the number of colors available on them. In order to make documents on such low-end graphical color displays look the same as on high-end devices, a standard color palette has been established.
